1. Who we are
This privacy policy applies to the sensea app (Android package ai.sensea.mobileapp, also available for iPhone). The app is provided by:

sensea GmbH is the controller of your personal data under the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). Purchases in our online shop are covered by the separate store privacy policy.

The app does not collect your phone's location, contacts, photos, files, audio, messages or advertising ID.
3. Data from the sensea device
The app shows information from a sensea device installed in a relative's home. The device sends this data directly to our servers, not through the app:
- presence and posture events (for example sitting or lying on the floor)
- fall alerts and other alerts
- heat clips: short low-resolution thermal sequences around an alert. They show warmth only, never a face or a recognisable image
- room temperature, humidity and air quality
- the approximate location of the home, used only for local heatwave and air-quality notices
This data is shown only to the members of that home's circle. The sensea device has no camera and no microphone.
4. How we use data
We use the data to:
- create and run your account and sign you in
- send alerts and notifications to your phone
- show your circle the status and history of a home
- send local heatwave, air-quality and flu-wave notices
- find and fix errors and keep the service secure
- understand how the app is used so we can improve it
We do not sell personal data, use it for advertising, or share it with data brokers.
Legal bases: performance of our contract with you (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR) for the account and alerts; our legitimate interest in a secure, working app (Art. 6(1)(f)) for crash logs and diagnostics; and consent (Art. 6(1)(a) and Art. 9(2)(a)) where the law requires it.
5. Who receives data
We share data only with the service providers below, who process it for us under data processing agreements (Art. 28 GDPR), and with the circle members of a home.

We disclose data to authorities only when the law requires it. Where a provider processes data outside the EU or EEA, we rely on the EU-US Data Privacy Framework or the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses.
6. How we protect data
- All data is encrypted in transit (HTTPS/TLS) between the app, the device and our servers.
- Data is encrypted at rest by our hosting provider.
- Database access is restricted so that each user sees only their own account and the homes they belong to.
- Heat clips are kept in private storage that only the home's circle members can open.

8. Deleting your account and data
In the app: Settings → Account → Delete account, then confirm.
Without the app: go to app.sensea.ai/requestDataDeletion, or email hello@sensea.ai from the address on your account with the subject "Delete my account". We confirm the deletion within 30 days.
What is deleted: your account, email address, password, sign-in connections, registered phones and push tokens, and your circle memberships. If you are the last circle member of a home, that home's alerts, events, heat clips, summaries and invitations are deleted too, and the device's location and name are cleared.
What is kept for a limited time: crash logs, with your user ID removed, for up to 30 days in our systems and up to 90 days at Firebase Crashlytics; detailed device readings until they are deleted after 30 days; backups for up to 365 days.
9. Your rights
You have the right to access, correct and delete your data, to restrict or object to its processing, to receive it in a portable format, and to withdraw consent at any time. Email hello@sensea.ai; we reply within one month. You can also complain to a data protection authority, for example the Landesbeauftragte für Datenschutz und Informationsfreiheit Nordrhein-Westfalen (LDI NRW).
10. Children
The sensea app is not directed at children. We do not knowingly create accounts for anyone under 16.
11. Changes and contact
