How it works

What sensea actually does.

sensea is a small smart home-care device that sits in your parent's home and learns what a normal day looks like there. When the day starts to look different, the family members they choose get a clear message on their phone. That is the whole idea.

01

Learns the normal day

In its first days, sensea learns the rhythm of the home. Nobody has to set anything up.

02

Notices what is different

A sudden movement, a routine that slowly changes, a room that stays too hot or air that turns poor.

03

Tells your circle

Only the people you choose get a message on their phone. After a sudden movement, it comes with a short heat clip.

04

You decide

A call, a visit, asking a neighbour, or nothing at all. sensea never decides for you.

01 - Learning

It learns the rhythm of the home.

Every home has a rhythm. Up around seven. Living room by eight. Quiet in the afternoon. Lights off by eleven. sensea spends its first days simply learning that rhythm, without anyone doing anything.

Once it knows what normal looks like, it can tell you when something shifts. And it understands that not every shift is the same. Some things happen in a moment, like an odd or sudden movement. Others build slowly, like mornings that keep starting later, or movement through the home that gradually slows over weeks. sensea notices both, and treats them differently.

Care research points the same way: studies have found that small changes in everyday movement, adding up over a week, can be an early sign that something is changing.

In a moment

An odd or sudden movement that does not fit the rhythm of the day.

Over weeks

Mornings that keep starting later. Movement through the home that gradually slows.

02 - Sensing

How it senses without watching.

sensea uses four kinds of sensors. None of them is a camera. None of them is a microphone. Nothing needs to be worn or pressed.

Movement

Reads movement and position in the room as an abstract pattern. It knows the usual pace of the home, and it recognises when a movement is odd or sudden - the kind that does not fit the normal rhythm of the day.

Warmth

A soft, low-resolution heat reading of the room. It shows where warmth is - the outline of a person, never a face.

Vibration

Feels sudden physical impacts in the room - a jolt through the floor or the furniture.

Environment

Light, temperature and air quality add context. A kitchen that warms up at lunchtime tells its own story. Poor air quality over long periods can become a serious health risk. sensea watches out for it, so it doesn't go unnoticed.

Designed with privacy in mind

Look out for them, without them feeling watched.

sensea senses the shape of the room and the warmth of the people in it. No faces. Nothing is recorded.

This is not just our view. Researchers at Paracelsus Medical University in Salzburg reviewed a decade of studies on sensor technology in care. People pushed back against cameras and devices worn on the body. They accepted technology that stays quietly in the room, and they wanted to stay in control of it.

Giving you enough context to act. Nothing more.

The room
What sensea sees

Day to day, everything sensea reads is processed inside the device.
Only when something unusual is confirmed does a short piece of context leave the home, and only to the people your family has chosen.

03 - Verifying

All sensors agree before anyone is bothered.

The single biggest reason families abandon home safety products is false alarms. So sensea never relies on one sensor. Radar, warmth and vibration work at the same time, and their signals are weighed together. Nothing reaches your phone until the picture agrees with itself.

Radar

Sees movement

Where something moves, and whether it fits the normal pattern.

Warmth

Confirms a person

Whether there is really a person where the movement is.

Vibration

Feels impact

Whether a moment came with a real physical impact.

People decide

When the signals agree, sensea alerts your circle with a short heat clip, so a person makes the final call.

Sensors work together. People decide.

04 - Receiving

What your family actually receives.

Not a live feed. Not a dashboard to check obsessively. On a normal day, the app simply shows that things look normal. sensea speaks up in two different ways, because not everything it notices is the same kind of news.

When something sudden happens

An alert, right when it matters.

A sudden movement that does not fit the usual pattern comes with a short heat clip, roughly sixty seconds around the moment it noticed. This is not camera footage. It shows only warmth, the way the device senses it: enough to understand what happened, never enough to see a face or what someone is wearing.

The home itself can also be the reason for an alert: a room that has stayed very hot for a long stretch, or air that has turned very poor. There is no clip here, because there is nothing to watch. The alert simply shows what sensea measured and for how long.

Either way, the person receiving it can judge the situation and decide what fits: a phone call, a visit, asking the neighbour to check in, a nudge to open a window, or nothing at all, because it turned out to be an ordinary moment.

When something shifts slowly

A quiet observation.

A day that starts unusually late, or a rhythm that has been changing over weeks. There is no clip, because there is no moment to look at. The family simply gets a quiet observation: here is what changed, here is when.

Often the right response is nothing more than a phone call that would have happened anyway, just a few days earlier.

In both cases, sensea never decides for the family. It gives the people who care enough context to decide well. Who gets access is entirely the family's choice. A daughter, a son, a neighbour two doors down, a close friend. Every family builds its own circle, and nobody outside it ever sees anything.

05 - Beyond the room

It understands more than it sees.

sensea directly senses everything within its view. But the rhythm of a home is bigger than any one room, and sensea understands that too.

A home tells its story as a whole. When someone spends the evening in a room the device cannot see, the device still knows how the day usually winds down: when the living room goes quiet, when the bedroom is usually entered, when the home settles for the night. If that pattern breaks - if the bedroom stays empty on a night it never does, or the day never winds down the way it always has - that change shows up in the rhythm, even though it happened out of view.

So being out of sight does not mean being out of the picture. The routine itself carries the information.

It knows what is happening outside, too.

The home does not exist in a vacuum. sensea also listens to weather, local conditions and regional alerts, so a heatwave changes what a warm living room means, a dark winter morning explains a later start to the day, and a normal January is not judged by the standards of July.

When conditions in your parent's area deserve attention - an extreme heat warning, say - the family knows without following the local news from two hundred kilometres away.

Where it belongs

The living room, the bedroom, or both - wherever daily life happens most. One device covers its own room and reads the rhythm of the wider home; a second, typically bedroom plus living room, covers the day and the night. Most families start with two.

Direct sensing

What the device sees in its own room: presence, movement, activity.

Ambient understanding

What the rhythm of the whole home tells it: routines, context, when something is off.

06 - Away

It knows when the home should be empty, too.

Not every quiet day is a worry. Sometimes the home is quiet because nobody is in it: a week at the coast, a few days with the grandchildren, a night or two in hospital. Tell sensea the home is empty - your parent can, or you can - and it stops looking for the usual rhythm and starts looking for the one thing that should not be there. Movement, in a home that should be still.

Set how long the home will be empty on a simple dial - an afternoon, a weekend, three weeks - and choose whether your circle should hear about any presence in that time. If someone is inside while the home should be empty, the people your family has chosen hear about it within moments, together with the same short heat clip sensea sends for any sudden movement. Enough to tell the neighbour who came to water the plants from a stranger who did not.

When the time runs out, or your parent ends it early with a tap, the rhythm picks up where it left off.

Theirs, not only yours

Away mode is the part of sensea that belongs to your parent. It looks after the flat while they are at the lake, and it does not mind who is looking after whom. For a lot of families, that is the conversation that gets the device through the front door. It is also the pause button: if your parent wants sensea to step back for a while, they switch to away and turn alerts off - no questions asked.

While they are home

Absence is the signal.

A morning that never starts. A room that stays empty on a night it never does.

While they are away

Presence is the signal.

Movement in a home that should have nobody in it.

To be clear

What sensea is not.

Not a camera.

Nothing is filmed. The only thing ever shared is a short heat clip, and only when something sudden and unusual happens.

Not a microphone.

It cannot hear conversations.

Not a wearable.

There is nothing to remember, charge or press.

Not a medical device.

sensea gives families awareness, not diagnoses.

Not surveillance.

Your parent lives exactly as before. The device learns quietly and speaks up only when something is different.

Not an alarm system.

There is no siren and no security company on the other end. sensea tells your family that someone is in an empty home, and a person decides what happens next.

A sense of home, restored.
